ABOUT CONSUMER WATCH
Real experiences. Greater transparency. Better choices.
Consumer Watch is a New Zealand platform built to make consumer experiences easier to find, compare and discuss. Consumers can publish an account of their own experience with a business, trader or service provider, while the subject of a report has a clear opportunity to respond.
Why Consumer Watch exists
When something goes well, or badly, other consumers can benefit from knowing what happened. Consumer Watch brings those experiences together in searchable business, category and location pages so people can research before they buy, hire or engage a service.
A platform for both sides
A Consumer Watch report is the submitter’s account; it is not a finding by Consumer Watch that every disputed statement is correct. Businesses and service providers can publish a response so readers can see more than one perspective. Published material can also be challenged through the site’s content-complaint process.
How reports are published
Users create an account, choose a public username or their real name, write their report and confirm publication for free. No card or submission payment is required. Publication does not mean Consumer Watch independently verifies or endorses the report.
Built for New Zealand
The directory is organised around New Zealand businesses, industries and locations. As the database grows, each report contributes to searchable business profiles and relevant category and location pages.
