Terms of Use
By using Consumer Watch you agree to use the service lawfully and responsibly. Consumer Watch is a platform for user-submitted consumer experiences, business responses and related information; it does not make a legal finding simply because content is published.
Your reports
You are responsible for the content you submit. Reports should relate to genuine experiences, be relevant to the subject identified, distinguish fact from opinion, and must not knowingly contain false statements, threats, harassment, unlawfully disclosed information or material you do not have the right to publish.
Free submissions
Basic report submission and publication are free. No card or payment is required, and submitting a report does not start a paid subscription. Publication does not confer endorsement, a particular ranking, immunity from challenge, or a guarantee that material will remain online.
Business responses
Businesses and service providers may submit a response concerning a report. Responders are responsible for their response content and must comply with the same standards of lawful and responsible use.
Moderation and content concerns
Consumer Watch may restrict, hide, edit where authorised, restore or remove content where reasonably required to administer the service, enforce these terms, address a complaint or comply with legal obligations. A dedicated content-complaint process is available for concerns about specific published material.
No professional advice
Content on Consumer Watch is provided for information and discussion. It is not legal, financial or other professional advice and should not be treated as a substitute for advice about a particular dispute.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the service develops. Continued use after an update is subject to the current terms displayed on the site.
Last updated: September 2026. These terms should receive New Zealand legal review as part of the site’s ongoing compliance programme.
